Are You the Villain or the Good Guy?

I'm sure you've heard, there's two sides to every story. I've even heard there's three; yours, mine and the truth. With that said, everyone has their own versions of how they view the things that have happened in their lives. That is their right.

Because we all see things differently, I'm sure you're the villain in someone's story. If you think you might be...the villain or the good guy, this blog post is for you.

No matter if you've done good or bad, seeking validation from others is pointless. It's pointless because even if you are able to convince someone else that you are a better person than you truly are, you will still not be able to convince yourself. As long as you know who you are, the way that someone else sees you does not matter.

The truth is, no matter the situation, there is no good guy & there is no villain. Yes, people go out of there way to paint you in a certain light, still, as long as you know that what that person is saying is not true and you do not bother to entertain their poisonous words, you are still who you know you are, not what someone else says you are.

We must come to a point, where we appreciate people for being who they are. If they are considered "good" than okay. If they are "bad" than okay. Understand that allowing people to be exactly who they are will teach you how to deal with them accordingly if it teaches you nothing else. Make space to allow people to be exactly who they've shown you they are and move accordingly.

If a snake has shown you, they are a snake, you can not be shocked or hurt when they decide to bite, because you wanted to believe they would be a snake with everyone except you. You wanted to believe that snake would be different instead of accepting the fact, that the snake is simply a snake.

Because someone does something you consider "foul" that you wouldn't personally do, it doesn't necessarily make them the villain. Not in their story. To them they could be doing everything that they know is right and they are entitled to that. We all live different lives. We all see the world through different eyes.

Allow yourself to take people and situations for what they are and who they are. So, no, you are not the villain. You aren't necessarily the good guy either. You are you. And to expect anything other than you, would be completely foolish.

With all of my love,

Yanni Jay
