If anyone were to ask me why self-care was essential, I would explain how much of a positive impact self care has on our mental & emotional health. Reiterating that when we are able to properly care for ourselves, it benefits us on a mental & emotional level as well. So let's talk about the"how".....

The term self -care inescapably indicates the act of caring for one's self. The importance of self care is that without it, your vessel, mental health and emotional well-being become untended to and burnt out. Now, you've heard here before (or in general) that you can not pour from an empty cup. In order to successfully carry out any tasks, work or simple daily routines, you must acquire the energy to do so. The energy, ultimately, is obtained from self-care. Some days are longer than others and each day will not be motivating.
A simple act of self care can lead you to an energy or emotion that gives you the will power you need to make it through the day.
With self-care brings awareness of self. Simple things like taking your showers at certain times, journaling to release any emotions, thoughts, or ideas you've had for the day, can bring you to realize what acts of self care work best for you, and how they make you feel. Your self-care routine should always leave you feeling great about yourself. Mine leaves me feeling liberated and I do not plan to change it, only to add to it.
I understand that sometimes with everything we have going on in our lives, things get overwhelming, especially if you give a lot of yourself to work, parenthood and other things. Still, there should be an understanding within that neglecting to take care of yourself is a disservice to not only you, but your work, your business, your children, your partner, anyone or anything that you care for that you pour into.
When we do not give ourselves the love that we give others, it can leave us feeling very negative emotions which ultimately have an affect on our mental & emotional health. All of these things go hand in hand!
It goes without saying that certain emotions ignite us mentally and leaves us either feeling great about ourselves and with the energy to do more and be more, or it leaves us with no desire to do anything. For example, if you're in a sad mood and decide to go and listen to sad music, that does nothing positive or beneficial to you or for you. What it does, is leaves you mentally and emotionally burnt out and nothing great becomes of that.
Remember that self-care is not selfish! Remember that in order to do for others you must do for yourself. You have to give yourself the love and care that you give to everyone else in order to be the best version of yourself and successfully achieve your goals.
This was a nice chat!
With all of my love
